We believe that every child deserves a safe and loving environment to grow, learn, and thrive. We open our doors to provide a nurturing space where children can flourish and build a brighter future.
Liberty Care Centre was born in 2005 as a feeding program and it was registered as a Charitable Children Institution in 2007 out of the compassionate need to respond to the desperate plight of orphans and other children made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS.
It was founded by Pastor Godfrey Muhenge who witnessed the untold pain and suffering of Orphans' and Vulnerable Children for a long time, through his vocation as a religious leader in Saint Worship Centre in Liberty Care Centre area.
As a servant of God, he began with a feeding programme for the children, where he was able to meet vulnerable children and acquired experience in dealing with their different issues and right violations.
He had the passion to serve the needy children and would often take home some of the victims of gender based, sexual violence and severe forms of child neglect and abuse.
Liberty Care Centre (LCC) received its first 25 children in May 2005 through the support of friends and has grown from strength to strength since then.
Now the centre has grown to house 50 children who are victims of different forms of child abuse, exploitation and violence.
